today, February 15th marks a somber memorial in Newfoundland. In the early morning hours of February' 15, 1982 - the Semi-submersible drilling rig Ocean Ranger sank in a storm off the coast of Newfoundland Having lost control of stability in a storm that saw 100 knot winds and 65 ft seas. the crew were forced to abandon.
